### Introduction

The **Lead Tag Trigger** automatically assigns a predefined tag to a contact when a new message arrives at your WhatsApp number.

This feature helps classify new conversations as leads and allows CRMs to use the tag as an automation trigger.

### How it works

1. **Activate Lead Tag** → Enable the trigger in your panel.
2. **Lead Tag field** → Enter the name of the tag you want to assign (e.g., lead, wa, prospect).
3. When a **new WhatsApp message** is received on the connected number:
   - The system adds the configured tag to the contact in your CRM.
   - This tag can then be used as a condition in automation workflows.

### Example

- You configure the Lead Tag as: lead.
- A new contact sends a message to your WhatsApp number.
- The CRM automatically assigns the tag lead to that contact.
- In your CRM automation builder, you create a rule:
  - **Trigger** → “When tag is added: lead”
  - **Action** → Send a welcome email, assign to a sales rep, or start a pipeline sequence.

### Result

- Every new WhatsApp message generates a **tagged lead** in your CRM.
- You can build automations that run immediately after the tag is applied.

### ⚠️ Important Notes

1. Tag names are recommended to be **short, lowercase, and consistent** (e.g., lead, wa\_lead).
2. Most CRMs (e.g., Highlevel) support **tag-based automation triggers**.
3. This trigger only fires **on the first incoming message** from a contact. Subsequent messages do not reapply the tag.
